About Us

We belong to a family of churches, Sovereign Grace Ministries, which exists to establish and to strengthen many local churches like us with the good news of the gospel in order to glorify God. We describe our doctrine as essentially “Reformed” but committed to charismatic practice as biblically defined.

Our Passion

At the heart of our passion is the gospel, the good news about Jesus Christ.

We want this message to dominate both everyday life and our meetings together. We are intentional about being a gospel-centered and cross-centered local church.

Our Purpose

At Sovereign Grace Church you can expect to be encouraged to love and enjoy God through the truth of the gospel. We try to accomplish that in three ways:

  1. Celebrating the gospel
  2. Proclaiming the gospel
  3. Applying the gospel

What we think about God is the most important thing about us. Surrounding a passion for the gospel is a love for truth about God. In describing our church’s doctrine, we’ve used some loaded terms.

By “essentially Reformed,” we mean that God’s control over everything includes the gift of salvation in a way that brings Him glory.

Charismatic practice as biblically defined” means that we expect to experience and to serve God in a way that continues the New Testament’s eager desire about knowing God as seen in Scripture.

Finally, we hope to inspire a passion for the local church, the context where all believers are to grow in holiness, be equipped for service, and bear witness to the saving grace of God.

Our Programs

We don’t try to do a lot, but we attempt to do a few things well. Our calendar is built around the two following structures:

  • Sunday Morning Gathering No meeting is more important to us than the Sunday gathering.

  • It is here that we celebrate the gospel by singing about God. This encourages us to be affected by the truth we declare together and, we believe, glorifies God.

  • It is here that we interact with God together through the Bible. This reminds us that God’s perspective is the only one that matters and is the only way for us to freely please God.
  • It is here that we expect to meet with God in a unique way. Corporate gatherings afford an opportunity for God’s Spirit to care for us through the many gifts He has given to the church.

  • Small Group Gatherings Without these contexts, we find it difficult to apply truth to our lives.

  • Care Group: On the 1st or 2nd Wednesday of the month, members of the church gather in homes to care for each other and to apply the latest teaching in the church to daily life. Also, Fellowship Groups meet to seek more specific help in trusting God.

  • Friday Night Live: On the 3rd Friday of the month, members of the church gather together for a family meeting to discuss a topic related to a specific area of life.
  • Saturday Prayer Meeting: On the 1st Saturday of the month, the church gathers to pray for our church and community.
